E – Edoardo Monteforte – Andy Moses
by Marco Di Mauro
The two works exhibited seem to be connected by the horizontality of both compositions; linear horizons that advance on superimposed levels. The foreground, towards the bottom, seems accentuated by a more intense colour that makes the onlooker focus on the detail, but while the light moving from left to right in Monteforte’s painting is positioned towards the top to form a clear and luminous sky, in the work of Moses the light floods the central sector of the canvas, highlighting it through a horizontal band of great visual impact. Finally, the colours chosen in the two works appear to contain the same mixtures of colour, from earth shades to washed-out blues. The hues are warm and pasty on the one side, and at the same time almost livid and cold in the blues.
