For the first time in Italy a retrospective of the californian artist Shane Guffog.

A non conventional artist on American art scene.

For many years he worked as assistant of the big artist Ed Ruscha of whom he was also personal friend. He absorbed the lesson of an innovative and non conventional art, but in the mean time he remained a “classic” artist who used brushes and colors very rigorously.

Two years ago he accepted a difficult and unusual challenge: the one of a confrontation and newly abstract interpretation of Leonardo da’ Vinci portrait of Ginevra de’ Benci; a choice determined by the will to venture into the spaces and the “light” of first Renaissance painting of Leonardo, revisiting that light and those colors with and through the Californian experience of Light and Colors.

An exhibition not to be missed for its high symbolic and cultural value.
